Visual Stories of the Lower Columbia and Beyond

006: Underway, Oscar B Ferry

Ferry boat on the Columbia River in the Pacific Northwest with terminal facilities and surrounding wildlife under sunny skies along the Lower Columbia region of Oregon and Washington.

All Aboard!

Before visiting the National Wildlife Refuge, I think I’ll take a quick jaunt across the river. My morning went quicker than I expected – I have some time to kill. There are a handful of cars, but nothing comparable to the multi-segmented lines you might find at the terminals in the Sound. My luck continues, as the line creeps up to board the ferry within a minute of my arrival. I’ll check my email later.

This trip is pure leisure – I have no business or errands in Westport. Upon arrival, I’ll simply bank a U-ey and hop back on. The journey should be quick, but there are few options but to relax when you’re at the whim of Ferry and the River. I won’t bore you anymore with words about how the journey went; but you can see for yourself, below.
