As you drive through Downtown Longview, take your time. Park, grab a coffee, do some window shopping. It’s hard to miss the dancing shades of blue and yellow on the 800 block of Commerce – “Seasons Stir” by John Hastings. Off of Hemlock and 14th, you’re met with intricately painted wisps and currents of white on black velvet – Jeff Sheridan’s mural on the Kiser building. Make your way along, and you’ll find many more. Eventually, you’ll find yourself between a juxtaposition of Paul Nunn’s “Centennial” and James Quarles’ tribute to the Columbia Theatre. Stop, reflect, and open your mind.
Pictured is “Root and Bloom” by Longview artist, Alex Lilley (Follow here). This mural was painted on the Dapper Dandelion building in downtown Longview.
