After watching Leon work on his latest painting, he extended an invitation to see his other studio. Stepping through a sound barrier, I was met with the greatest number of keys, dials, knobs, sliders, and buttons I had ever seen in a five-by-five-foot-space. I had somehow entered the cockpit of a space shuttle. Before I even set my bag down, Leon was swiveling in the chair, seamlessly navigating an ensemble of switches and turns – the countdown to launch had started.
