024: Squirrel Murals, Pt 2

Painting “Two Wanderlust Squirrels” by Neiloni Davis

We last left off with a BTS look at Shelly Metzger’s “Going Places” mural in Issue 023. By no grand design, two squirrel murals popped up a couple dozen yards from each other within a couple of months. If Longview was feeling any shortage of squirrels, it certainly won’t now.

Neiloni Davis may be most known for her colorful and whimsical window painting, which graces many storefronts in the area. Her first mural and largest painting yet, “Two Wanderlust Squirrels” sets a colorful scene reminiscent of the banks of Lake Sacagawea. With two large squirrel tails emerging from behind a large oak, passersby are encouraged to stop and pose.
